KARACHI: Sarfaraz Ahmed's brother Abdur Rehman has got a lifetime opportunity to spend quality time in Quetta Gladiators' camp for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8.
Rehman has been included in Gladiators' camp to give him exposure and international cricket's team environment.
The young wicket-keeper batter is optimistic to gain maximum exposure from the camp. "I am too excited and the experience so far has been amazing," the youngster shared. "I am enjoying my time with big players who have played a lot of international cricket. It is definitely a learning experience for me and I am trying my best to learn as much as I can from them," he added.
Rehman has represented different clubs and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) team when departmental cricket was active.
While talking about Sarfaraz's captaincy, Rehman said he has always been a fan of his brother's leadership.
"We have always seen him captaining his sides. Be it 2006 U19 World Cup or ICC Champions Trophy, he has always dominated as a captain. I learn a lot from him," he praised.
To a query about being under pressure of Sarfaraz in Quetta's camp, Rehman said it's a positive thing for him. "Obviously, he scold me on my mistakes. But, I enjoy being in his captaincy. There is no pressure on me, in fact he supports me and backs me to do better," he mentioned.
Rehman recalled his best of Sarfaraz's knocks. "My favorite knock of Sarfaraz was his maiden T20I fifty because I was there in the ground," he disclosed.
"Yes, his last match-saving knock against New Zealand was also too emotional for us. Obviously, he was making comeback after a very long time and I was there in the ground and watched him play, so yes, it was special," he added.
Rehman, who tells himself an admirer of India's Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma and Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman, said he will gain experience from Quetta's camp and try to take it forward.
"I am working hard and looking forward to execute the experience, which I get with Quetta team, in my future endeavors," he concluded.
